As a programmer or developer, sometimes it becomes extremely difficult to choose the best laptop from a wide range of laptops with different prices and specs. It becomes more difficult for people who are beginners in the field of programming.
I have shared some key points that will help you to choose the best laptop for you to work with any programming technology.
How to Choose the Best Laptop for Programming in India?
RAM
RAM is the most important thing you should look for before choosing your laptop. RAM of your laptop highly performance of your usage. A minimum of 8 GB RAM in your laptop is required as you are going to use multiple tools or browsers at the same time. 16 GB RAM or more is highly recommended for best performance if your budget is high.
Processor
Good processor and RAM should be your highest priority while choosing a laptop for programming. As a programmer, we have to do multitasking. When we do programming or development we have to open a few IDEs along with a browser with several tabs opened. For such a purpose, a good processor is required. A laptop with an i5 processor is recommended. You can go with i7, i9, or Pentium processor if you have a huge budget.
Graphics Card
External Graphics Card is not required until you are doing Graphics related work or Game Development. Integrated Graphics Card can work for those who are doing web and mobile app development.
Storage
Laptops have two types of storage: HDD and SSD. SSD has high performance as compared to HDD. But it is also cost-effective compared to HDD. So, if your budget is high you can opt for SSD, or else you can use HDD on your laptop. Nowadays, programmers also use Hybrid Drive which includes both HDD and SSD. They run their OS on SSD and use HDD for storage. This helps to get better performance with less cost.
Battery
The last but not the least thing you need to consider is the battery life of the laptop. Every laptop comes with moderate battery life. But if you mostly use your laptop where there is no power supply, then you should opt for laptops with high battery life.
